Surface Genie Kitchen & Bath Refinishing

The Refinishing Process--What to Expect

Products Used

Only the highest quality glazes and coatings are used in the refinishing process.

The key to a good refinishing job is meticulous cleaning and preparation along with a professionally applied glaze coating.

This insures the new surface adheres to the old surface. I perform all of the work myself assuring you the customer only the highest quality results.

Work Area Preparation

I take care and pride insuring the work and surrounding areas are protected and that all fumes are properly exhausted out of the home.

The work area is masked off for protection using the highest quality 3M products. I insist on doing all of my own work. No short cuts are taken when it comes to protecting your home. I take time insuring all areas surrounding are masked off and protected.

Surface Preparation

I use a two-step process to clean and prepare the surface for refinishing. A special industrial-strength cleaner is used to remove body dirt, soap scum and calcium buildup.

Next, the surface is chemically etched to insure 100% adhesion and bonding of the new surface.

Surface Application

New surface applied using only the best glazes in the porcelain coatings industry. This high-tech, two-part polyurethane epoxy is the same coating used in the aerospace industry. It is extremely hard and durable. It is dry and ready to use within 24-48 hours.

When this process is completed by a trained professional you will not be able to tell the difference between your newly reglazed surface/bathtub and a brand-new one.

The difference is in the cost--refinishing a tub for $300 or replacing with a new tub for $1,500-$3,000.
